Dumin Tablet, Syrup
Composition
Dumin tablet : Each tablet contains Paracetamol 500 mg
Dumin syrup : Each 5 ml syrup contains Paracetamol 120 mg

Description
Paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect, which reduces pain/fever significantly. Paracetamol is metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine. Paracetamol does not cause irritation to the gastric mucosa or gastrointestinal bleeding. The mechanism of action of Paracetamol is assumed to inhibit the synthesis of the prostaglandin.

Mode of actions
Analgesic-antipyretic
  • As an analgesic drug, it can enhance the pain threshold
  • As an antipyretic, it was assumed can act directly at the central thermo-regulator in the hypothalamus
Indications
Relieves pain on headache, toothache and reduces fever

Contra indications
- Patients with severe liver dysfunction
- Patients with known hypersensitivity to this drug

Side effects
- Prolonged administration and high doses may cause liver damage
- Hypersensitivity reactions

Precautions
  • Paracetamol should be used with caution in patients with impaired renal function
  • Patients should immediately contact a physician or hospital if the fever is not reduced within 2 days or pain is not relieved within 5 days treatment
  • Avoid alcohol consumption, this drug may cause liver damage risk
Posology
Tablet 500 mg
Adults : 1 tablet 3-4 times daily
Children 6-12 years : 1/2 - 1 tablet 3-4 times daily
or as doctor's prescription

Syrup
0-1 year : 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) 3-4 times daily
1 -2 years : 1 teaspoon (5 ml) 3-4 times daily
2-6 years : 1 -2 teaspoons (5-10 ml) 3-4 times daily
6-9 years : 2-3 teaspoons (10-15 ml) 3-4 times daily
9-12 years: 3-4 teaspoons (15-20 ml) 3-4 times daily
or as doctor's prescription.

Dumin Tablet:Available in box containing 100 blisters of 10 tablets and in box containing 10 blisters of 10 tablets
